Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before downloading, installing, or using Finlo ("the App"), developed by Genssy ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using Finlo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Genssy grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download, install, and use Finlo on any Apple device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. This license is also subject to the Apple App Store Terms of Service and the Usage Rules set forth therein.

2. Description of the App

Finlo is a personal finance management application that allows you to:

  • Track and categorize personal expenses with notes, dates, and budget assignments
  • Create and manage budgets with various recurrence periods (Daily, Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, Yearly, and Custom)
  • Organize bills into categories such as House, Utility Bills, Food, Transportation, and Subscriptions
  • Record multiple income sources and manage earner profiles
  • Split shared bills between earners using methods such as Equal Money Left or Proportional to Income
  • View spending insights, category breakdowns, trends, and analytics
  • Receive local notifications for budget alerts, bill reminders, and spending summaries
  • Access financial data via home screen widgets
  • Sync data across Apple devices via iCloud
  • Export data in CSV or JSON format
  • Secure the app with Face ID or Touch ID

3. User Responsibilities

When using Finlo, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of all data you enter into the App, including but not limited to expense amounts, bill details, income figures, budget limits, and any notes or descriptions.
  • Finlo is a personal finance tracking and organizational tool. It does not constitute financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. You should consult qualified professionals for any financial decisions.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, your iCloud account credentials, and the biometric security settings (Face ID/Touch ID) on your device.
  • You will not use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any manner inconsistent with these Terms.
  • You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App.
  • You will not modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.

4. Premium Subscription

Finlo offers optional Premium features available through in-app purchases, which may unlock additional capabilities including:

  • Unlimited budgets (the free version may have limits on the number of budgets)
  • All recurrence options for budget periods
  • Unlimited bill categories
  • Advanced bill splitting features, including proportional splitting and manual bill reassignment
  • Budget history and extended spending insights with past period analysis

Premium subscriptions are processed and managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. All billing, payment processing, and subscription management are governed by Apple's terms. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions). Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple's refund policies.

5. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App — including but not limited to the software, design, graphics, user interface, visual elements, icons, logos, and all other content — are owned by Genssy and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or other proprietary marks. For more details, please review our Copyright Policy.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Finlo is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Genssy disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

  • The App will function uninterrupted, error-free, or free from bugs or security vulnerabilities
  • Calculations, insights, spending summaries, budget tracking, bill splitting, or any other computed data will be perfectly accurate in all circumstances
  • The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations
  • iCloud Sync will function without interruption or data loss, as this depends on Apple's infrastructure

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Genssy, its developer, or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, revenue, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App
  • Any financial decisions made based on information displayed in or calculated by the App
  • Any inaccuracy in budget calculations, expense tracking, bill splitting, spending insights, or other financial data
  • Loss or corruption of data, whether stored locally or via iCloud Sync
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data due to device compromise
  • Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the App or any of its features

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Your Data

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Finlo. We do not claim any rights over your financial information. Since your data is stored locally on your device and optionally in your personal iCloud account, you are responsible for backing up your data. We recommend using the Export Data feature regularly to maintain backups in CSV or JSON format. For more information about how we handle data, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

Finlo integrates with the following Apple platform services:

  • iCloud (CloudKit) — for optional data synchronization across devices
  • App Store / StoreKit — for Premium subscription purchases
  • LocalAuthentication — for Face ID and Touch ID app lock
  • WidgetKit — for home screen widgets
  • UserNotifications — for local notification delivery

These services are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or security of these third-party services.

10. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any part of Finlo at any time, with or without notice. This includes adding, changing, or removing features, adjusting Premium subscription offerings, or discontinuing the App entirely. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

11. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting the App from all of your devices. We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App if you violate any provision of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies from your devices.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of the jurisdiction in which Genssy operates.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Copyright Policy, and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Genssy regarding your use of Finlo, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of Finlo after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
